Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager provides employee relations support to the entire company. Responsibilities of this position include: conducting employee relations investigations, researching, reporting, and analyzing information to be provided to the Senior HR Manager and other senior level managers, tracking employee relations processes and procedures, and making recommendations to improve service and support. The HR Manager will be the point person for all employee leave related processes (FMLA, Paid Parental Leave, ADAAA, Emergency Leave of Absence). This position plays an integral part in ensuring all departments, management and employees are working harmoniously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead investigator on employee relations notifications received through the Company’s Integrity Line
  • Determines the outcome and/or makes recommendations about whether or not a policy violation has occurred and what the outcome should be regarding investigations and employee relations issues
  • Manage the flow of all employee relations notifications
  • Reviews candidate background reports to include credit history, criminal history report, and drug test screenings to determine eligibility for employment
  • Analyze, report and identify trends that will be addressed through targeted training and make recommendations to the Senior HR Manager and other senior level management
  • Report weekly to supervisor on employee relations notifications, status and issues
  • Address employee conflicts, coaches employee on resolution and complete investigations as required
  • Coaches management on hiring, firing and performance management decisions
  • Work with management to administer employee discipline or corrective action as needed
  • Actively work to identify, analyze and improve any problematic areas
  • Coach employees and management to uphold the company’s priorities and values
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to mandatory posting updates.
  • Build understanding of all employee benefits packages
  • Provide counsel to all employees on benefit plan provisions
  • Act as liaison between benefit providers, broker, and employees
  • First point of contact for all employee leave related processes (FMLA, ADAAA, Paid Parental Leave, Emergency Leave of Absence, etc.)
  • Manage HR Coordinator in a manner to encourage success, including completing performance evaluations and continually mentoring on performance expectations and skill builds needed for next level of performance.
  • Indirectly work with and mentor Payroll Specialist to encourage success and skill building for next level of performance.
  • Assist with the hiring, training, performance, and termination decisions.
  • Assist Senior HR Manager in implementing and administering HR policies and procedures in accordance with the Company’s overall goals and ensure compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS in human resources or related field preferred
  • PHR preferred
  • Minimum five years’ experience in administrative or human resources work
  • Experience using HRIS, Dayforce knowledge preferred
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work independently
  • Able to manage multiple projects and produce timely and effective results
  • Typing skills are required
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants and employees
  • Ability to exercise poise, tactfulness and diplomacy in order to handle sensitive and confidential situations
