Director, Information Technology

The Director, Information Technology will manage the IT Support Services and Infrastructure area within IT. He/she is charged with overseeing and managing service levels of core applications, enterprise devices and service desk/incident management. In addition, he/she will be responsible for building a culture of quality and service levels for user support. He/she will support a shared vision across the enterprise while building collaborative relationships across the organization. The Director will also maintain oversight responsibility for complex and high-risk programs and projects including cybersecurity, PCI DSS compliance, Business Continuity, and IT service delivery for 100+ retail locations including Advance Financial’s corporate headquarters.

  • Overseeing technical projects in alignment with organizational goals
  • Develop and manage service level metrics and expectations related to core applications, enterprise devices and the help desk/incident management function
  • Monitor and report end-to-end service level performance, including the review of SLAs and underpinning contracts
  • Ensure IT security maintained across all IT infrastructure by implementing and maintaining IT Security policies as required for the organization
  • Provide the Azure cloud administration team with required support
  • Develop and maintain IT continuity framework and IT continuity plans
  • Organize and lead project teams through project life cycles
  • Deploy project management principles and techniques to establish and maintain control of on-going projects
  • Define and build a world class global service desk which includes developing vision and strategy, creating innovative solutions for ticket reduction and automation efficiencies
  • Ensure updated inventory of IT resources
  • Oversee the administration and troubleshooting of all company devices including desk phones and mobile devices
  • Lead IT Operations teams through all phases of the internal service process, including concept, development, implementation and closeout
  • Maintain existing programs, seeing that necessary updates are made to hardware / software as required
  • Lead efforts to improve IT processes and optimize internal customer satisfaction through technology deployed
  • Improve key performance indicators (KPIs), SLAs, reporting cadence and processes required for running an effective global service desk
  • Manage service desk goals, priorities, escalations, volumes, aged tickets and other associated processes
  • Coordinate IT activities to ensure data availability and network services with as little downtime as necessary
  • Oversee departmental finances, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Implement policies that are chosen by executives and report back to the C-suite level
  • Identify security vulnerabilities and eliminate them with strategic solutions that increase data security
  • Direct and support implementation of new software and hardware
  • Identify and recommend new technology solutions


  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field or equivalent work-related experience.  Master’s degree preferred
  • Several years’ experience managing employees within an IT environment
  • 7-10 years of mid-level IT management experience with a focus on IT process improvement
  • Experience supporting an Azure cloud environment is desirable
  • Intermediate to expert level ITIL certifications and advanced cloud engineering certifications preferred
  • Proven success in working with a senior leadership team in a demanding, fast-paced and high-quality environment
  • Solid understanding of business processes, operations and the application of technology including IT best practices and standards
